Besides several large events for the year, the Bruce Hall social calendar includes a huge range of different activities - there's something for everyone!

Orientation week traditionally includes the Garden Party - a classy event and excuse to dress up and begin the year with cocktails and jazz in North Quad. Other traditional events held during Bruce's O-week include a Cruise on Lake Burley Griffin and Band in the Quad. For the past two years Bruce has hosted the International Students' Department's Hawker Night - a great way to sample food from a multitude of different countries, meet students from across the ANU and get involved in games and competitions. Our Learning Communities hold regular activities and events during the year - the Coordinators are the people to talk to about the programme, which span organic gardening, art exhibitions, guided tours, journal launch parties, debates, forums, faculty dinners, cocktail functions and movies.

Events in the Inter-Hall Arts Shield competition are hosted by different Halls and Colleges. Those that Bruce has hosted include interhall debating and the interhall Talent Show; all great entertainment. We also hold several arts exhibitions a year, including the Bruce Hall Arts Show. Bruce Hall's Play is highly anticipated every year. One of the stand out features of our Players is the level of professionalism they bring to preparation and performance. We have developed a tradition of performing plays written by current residents of the Hall, so if you are a writer, this could be your chance to have one of your works performed before a live audience!

Random Acts of Kindness Week, in which we take the time to show kindness to another randomly chosen resident, is closely followed by Murder, in which participants track each other through the college, water pistols drawn! We run an informal interwing competition during the year, in which teams from different wings play sports ranging from badminton and touch football to soccer and ultimate frisbee. The emphasis is on fun and trying something new.
